Why You Need Waterproof Hiking Shoes

Think of it this way, you have your own fun gang and it seems like you have explored everything that seems to be fun. You then realize that there is still one area you have not explored. You make a few calls to your friends and they fall for the idea of hiking. Later on, you hook up with a friend who has gone hiking for one or two times and you ask for some tips. Your friend points out that among the things you need is a pair of waterproof hiking shoes.

Back in your mind, you know that nature has its way of spoiling your fun but you want this hiking trip to be the best moment you have ever had. Before you even go looking for waterproof hiking shoes, do you even have an idea of why you need them? Perhaps you think that it will rain out there and having waterproof hiking shoes is one of the ways to prevent your feet from rainwater. But then you realize that you have a pair of mud boots in your backyard that can as well serve the same purpose. While that might be a good though, there are several other reasons as to why you need waterproof hiking shoes. Moreover, mud boots might not be good enough for the hike.

Waterproof Hiking Shoes

Why You Need Waterproof Hiking Shoes

As you wade through the thick vegetation or in puddles, you need a method of combating the infuriating elements of weather. Rainfall is one of those reasons as to why you would need some waterproof hiking shoes. While this might not be the only frustrating form of precipitation, puddles seem to be the most annoying. When your feet are wet and cold, it becomes easy to lose touch of the element of fun and all you are left with is a longing for the day to end and the trip to be over. However, waterproof hiking shoes can make you feel reborn when you will enjoy jumping into those pools of water and wading through without getting your feet wet or even cold. It would feel like you have become a kid again. Do you know how fun that could be? You might also have envisioned a winter hike and when the time comes, your feet feel too cold and sluggish to carry you to the destination. Waterproof hiking boots will keep you warm and dry all the time. Do not let the weather to spoil your fun.

The fact that you have gone hiking does not mean that you will only get fun from the high heights and crawling over stones. It is a lot easier to have fun when you do not have a reason to fear snow, streams, mud, rains, pools and other wet conditions. Waterproof hiking boots assure you of more fun. With them, you will not fear to get blisters that may be as a result of earing wet shoes. Apart from keeping your feet warm and dry. They also assure you of comfort and protection from wet conditions. You only have to wear them, get the idea of clammy feet out of your brains and have all the fun that you can possibly imagine.

Moreover, you do not have to risk jumping from stone to stone as you cross shallow creeks. If the water is not too deep to pour into your shoes through the top when you submerge your feet in the water, waterproof boots are the solution. You can just wade through ankle deep-streams without thinking about gaiters or even creek-crossing shoes. The only funny feeling you will have is some dampness in your socks that make you feel like some water has oozed into your shoes. Do not worry, it is just the difference in temperatures between the water and your feet that is messing with your nerves bearing in mind that the water is several degrees cooler than your feet.

Also, note that unlike the rubber kind of shoes, waterproof hiking shoes have a mechanism to allow your feet to breathe hence preventing soaking from sweat. There is ventilation just at the top of the shoe for this purpose. They can also be used in a range of weather conditions since they are designed for every weather condition.

Conclusion

It is fun to go hiking but it is more fun to hike while you wear waterproof hiking shoes. You seriously need one pair of those for enough comfort and maximum fun. The shoes will keep your feet warm and dry. They protect you from the water on the outside through their waterproof material and from sweat on the inside through their breathability design. You only need a pair of those shoes and your hiking moments will be perfect.

Reasons Nurses with High Arch Feet May Need the Best Shoes with More Arch Support

There are nurses and workers who have more feet aches as compared to the others. The reason could be many. Depending on the shape of the foot, the nature and severity of the pain may vary. It is important to notice that when people walk they have some distinct and unique walking pattern that is determined by the shape and size of the foot. Some may over-pronate, some under-pronate, some have high arches, some have normal and some people may have a flat foot with fallen or no arch height underneath the foot.

People who have a flat foot shape may experience aches in the middle of the foot and pressure during the walk and running cycle. This is because if a foot has no arch or lower arch or maybe a higher arch, the pressure resolution vary.

Flat feet experience more impact on the feet because it is not balanced out with the help of the heel and toe and the arching shape. Normal arch height assures a balanced foot positioning whereas too high arch means more pain and problem during the walk as this sort of shape may not balance the pressure in a healthy way.

That is why when people experience foot pain due to prolonged work hours, continuous standing positioning, walking and running, this shows there might be a high arch condition that causes such issues.

High-Arch

In case if you are working as a nurse, you may need to be sure that your feet stay comfortable and easy in the shoe without getting stressed out. This is more important for nurses because they have to stay active, comfortable and should keep their feet relaxed and comfortable no matter how much they need to walk stand.

For high-arch feet bearers, there has to be arch support within the shoe that may balance out the shape and make sure the shoes are comfortable enough to support the higher arch condition.

With the higher arch support, the foot is supported by the middle arch that keeps the foot stable on the ground and helps in absorbing the impact when the wearer walks, stands on the ground.

Nurses with high-arch may need a pair of shoe with higher arch support due to the following important reasons:

The shoes with high arch support make sure to provide support in the middle part of the foot so that the foot does not feel pain and fatigue in the muscles. The arch support helps in lowering the stress on the foot due to consistently same positioning and pressure.

In addition to that, the arch support makes sure that the foot will feel lesser impact during the walk because the support distributes the impact and make sure it is not targeted on the heel and toe area. With the balanced heel and toe area and support within the empty arching shape, the arch support assures to keep the foot stable and comfortable while managing the stress evenly throughout the foot.

Shoes with higher arch support offer better cushioning and support for the heel and the toe area assuring that there would be lesser and no pain or stress and foot will be comfortable and cushioned.

Along with the arch support, the shock absorption is also necessary assuring that the pressure will be diffused before it reaches the foot and the leg muscles. With the help of timely shock absorption and diffusion, the foot can be protected against damage, twisting and turning and extreme fatigue as well.

Best shoes with high arch support make sure that you will get enough support and comfort so that as a nurse or a consistent worker or athlete, you can work for long hours and make sure to offer better performance.

Nurses need such shoes in order to make sure that they develop a healthy foot posture to keep it easy to walk. In addition to that, the high arch shoes may help in keeping the balance of the foot and body and make sure they walk easy.

These shoes are designed to provide shock and pressure absorption so that the pain is not there and make sure nurses can walk and perform their duties even if they have higher foot arches to manage.

Things to look for in shoes for nurses who have plantar fasciitis

Plantar Fasciitis is a terrible muscles pain that is caused due to extreme pressure on muscles the lies in the foot and is attached to the heel area. The pain arises when the heel gets a lot of impact and pressure during the walk or when a person has to stand for a longer period of time without any break or without taking sufficient rest. This makes sure that your foot muscles may be exhausted and pressured a lot making the blood flow uneven and increasing the strain on the foot muscles.

That being said, people who are in a field to work for the whole day are more likely to be a victim of this pain as compared to the average people who are not performing such duties. Among the many affected people or people who are at the brink of developing plantar fasciitis pain, nurses are more likely to be considered as vulnerable and to developing this sort of pain.

To avoid this kind of issues, nurses are recommended to use specialized shoes which are made to help in coping with the plantar fasciitis problem and pain. Sometimes it feels confusing how the suitability of shoe can be determined when there are a number of options available online.

Here are some things that you may consider when buying shoes for treating or coping with the Plantar Fasciitis pain:

Durable yet firm upper and design

Though most people need flexible and durable shoes for walking when it comes to the nurse’s shoes it is better to find shoes which are durable, supportive and a bit firmer so that it may keep the foot in shape and easy. The overall design should be a composed structure that keeps the foot stable and safe.

Enough arch support

Look for the shoes that offer enough arch support so that the foot stays easy in the shoe and keep its natural shape and with lesser pressure on the heel area. It keeps the plantar fasciitis muscle in a posture that feels the best and would never let it get affected by the impact or exertions during the walk or while in the standing position.

Cushioning on the inside

Plantar Fasciitis

Always try to find a shoe that has to cushion and padding on the inside especially on the insole so that the foot feel the least impact during the gait cycle. Cushioned insoles and padding along sides make sure that there is no pressure building on the foot muscles.

Heel area with shock absorber padding

Shoes that are designed to cope with foot pain issues usually come with cradling heel design and a wide shape so that it keeps the foot easy inside and stable outside. Memory foam heel insert always help in avoiding pressure on the heel. In addition to that, you may also find padding with specialized foam inserts for reduced pressure and least or no pain in the heel area.

No-slip outsole

The outsole has to be safe and make sure it stays stable and has a good grip on the ground. This also assures safer walk and lesser chances of getting a foot pain or injury as well.

Airy, cool and dry shoe

Always make sure you have an airy shoe with consistent airflow or maybe a sock liner to reduce sweating issues that in-turn keeps the foot safe inside the shoe so that the muscles are not twisted or turned inside it.

Now that we have discussed some of the most important things that make the shoes fit for nurses and help avoid plantar fasciitis pain, you can surely find a suitable pair of shoes that may be a good fit for many reasons. It is better to consider the supportive, durable and well-designed shoe which offers appropriate arch support has a stable grip on the ground and are comfortable enough to cradle the foot safely to support the gait cycle.

plantar fasciitis nurses

If you can find a shoe that assures all these aspects, you can compare it to your needs and you will obviously be seeing the positive effects of having such shoes as the work shoes that keep you away from plantar fasciitis pain.

New Balance X Comme Des Garcons

Thanks to our buddies at New Balance Singapore, we’ve just got our sole-fiending hands on this collab that flew way under the hype radar. Eye by Junya Watanabe for Comme des Garcons has re-worked the much loved classic New Balance 1500 runner with the typical vintage touch that they had previously applied on Nike’s vintage line a couple years ago. The narrower 1500 silhouette seems the obvious choice for the fashion giant, and little touches such as the retro printed font on the back heel tab and vintage tongue tag is a throwback to the 1500’s heritage.

The shoes come with dual branded insoles and special shoe bag, which we unfortunately did not get as it came straight from New Balance.

CDG collabs don’t come cheap and this Japan excluisve pair comes attached with a hefty price tag of ¥31,000.
